Equal prize money in every NUCFP event, starting immediately
The women's section of a NUCFP open now carries the same prize fund per board as the open section. The rule takes effect this season.

From this season, every event the federation rates must offer the same prize fund per board in its women's section as in its open section. The rule was adopted unanimously and applies to any tournament seeking a NUCFP rating, not only to events the federation runs itself.
The reasoning was not complicated. A women's section with a smaller purse tells every girl who enters it exactly where she is expected to finish. Organisers who cannot fund two equal sections are free to run a single open section instead — several already do, and their women's prizes are awarded within it.
The technical commission also confirmed that the women's title norms will be assessed against the same published criteria as the open titles, with the norm requirements posted on the Transparency page alongside the rating regulations.
One organiser asked whether this would reduce the number of rated events. In the first quarter under the rule, the number went up.
